Troiareuke ACSEN Pore Control Mask Review

Clay masks are every oily skinned, acne-prone, large pored, person’s best friend.  My best friend! They’re a must have to suck out all the excess sebum, clean out your pores, and calm acne/pimples. I’ve been loyal to my Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask for many years, but it’s time to try something new! When I was shopping for Troiareuke products in Korea I picked up the ACSEN Pore Control Mask to try it out. Troiareuke products are quite pricey, but what I’ve tried (like the cleanser or cushion) was worth it so lets see if this mask makes the cut!

Mediheal Labocare Pantenoide Sun Essence Review | Dry Skin

When I was in Korea I was obsessed with buying sunscreens. I was looking for two types: (1) A moisturizing, essence formula for cold, dry weather; (2) A light, watery type for warmer weather. All of them had to have a moisturizing element, be lightweight, non-greasy, have 4 +’s, have an SPF higher than 40, and don’t leave a white cast. Basically, I was looking for a moisturizer-like sunscreen. One of the sunscreens that met my requirements is the Mediheal Labocare Pantenoide Sun Essence SPF 50+ PA++++.

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum EX Review

Having visited the Sulwhasoo spa back in November, I had a chance to learn more about the brand and its products. Sulwhasoo’s signature ingredient is ginseng and their entire line draws roots from Korean herbal medicine. Who knows if it’s just a placebo effect, but using products that have medicinal properties makes me feel better.  I brought home several of their iconic products to try for myself and today I’ll be reviewing their First Care Activating Serum EX.

Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara & Long Lash Reviews

I wish I had naturally long, full lashes, but that gene skipped out on yours truly so I’m here on the quest to find a mascara that will give me a boost when I don’t want to wear falsies. I’ve been pretty stuck on L’oreal’s Lash Paradise, but when I was in Korea I picked up two versions of Etude House’s Curl Fix mascaras to try. I got the original, Etude House Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara and the Long Lash version. Let's see if they'll bring my baby lashes to life!

Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil Review

I don’t know why it took me so long to review this, but I started using the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil since last October and I’m almost done with the bottle now. Better late then never I guess! I love a good double cleanse routine so when I ran out of my trusty Banila Co I decided to try out this Klairs oil cleanser.

Haneul Sky Park | S. Korea

Haneul Park. Sky Park. Haneul Sky Park. This place used to be a dump, but it was transformed into something incredibly beautiful. We went in mid November so it was right during the end of autumn and beginning of winter.  Thankfully, the tall pampas grass was still around so we were able to capture some cool shots! This park is a beautiful, tranquil environment to relax and recharge.

Best Cafes | S. Korea

One of the many reasons Kevin and I love Korea is the cafes. There are so many cafes with different themes, which makes exploring them so much fun. I’ll share some of the standout ones we visited in this post. We still have a long list of them to check out, but that’s for another trip!

December 2017 Empties

Another month, another batch of empties! During 2017 I remember setting a goal for myself to use up my skin care stash and finish at least 1 eyeshadow palette. I succeeded the first, but totally failed the second! Anyone in a similar position? I’ll have to try harder this year. J The last products I used up for 2017:

2017 Best Skin Care & Makeup

2017 was the year of new things and changes- I started taking blogging more seriously and changed platforms, and I figured out what I wanted to do with my passions. I’m glad 2017 is over and am so ready to tackle 2018. This is the year I make things happen. But before that, here is the roundup of my favorites that got me through 2017:

TECA 1% Barrier Cream Review

Welcome, 2018! I have to admit it was so hard to get back into blogging and posting on Instagram since it was the holidays. But, the new year calls for a fresh start so here we go! As someone who suffers from very reactive skin, I’m always on the lookout for products that soothe and improve. When Wishtrend came out with the *TECA 1% Barrier Cream with claims to strengthen and heal the skin I had to try it!

Sulwhasoo Flagship Store Spa Facial Review

When I was planning my trip to Korea, my priority was to get a facial. I didn’t care for it to be fancy, but I wanted that experience. I really wanted to go where the locals went, but because they get ‘maintenance facials’ at local skin care shops I didn't feel comfortable going that route since I don't speak the language. After much research, google led me to the Sulwhasoo Flagship Store in Gangnam and an experience I'll never forget.

How to Shop S. Korea (Myeong-dong) | Tips to Save Time + Money

Before my trip to S. Korea, I tried googling “how to shop korea/myeong-dong.” Nothing useful came up. If you’ve been there before then you know that street is crazy. It’s filled with shops and people, and the stores are repetitive! It’s easy to feel lost and overwhelmed by all of it. You’ll also realize that a lot of road shop brands are everywhere so you’re not restricted to Myeong-dong. With so many locations, where do you go to get the best deal? Having been to S. Korea twice now, I’ve got a few shopping tips that I think are helpful.
