SKINRx Lab MadeCera Cream Review

Although we’re still rolling in summer heat, fall is right around the corner and cooler, drier weather is coming! My skin goes through bouts of sensitivity and irritation so I’m always keeping an eye out for a good moisturizer that can repair and revive it. Something like the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream, know what I mean? Earlier in the year, I was having one of those episodes and needed a new moisturizer so SKINRx’s MadeCera Cream seemed to fit the bill.

July 2018 Favorites & Empties

July is over and was a crazy busy month for me! We're so close to being done with our home remodeling and I cannot wait until it's complete! I've had to put this blog and my social media posts on the back-burner, but I'll be back posting regularly soon. If you've been through home renovations then you know how tough they can be! In the mean time, it's time to share what I loved and emptied in July!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018 Haul

Hello, fellow shopaholics! Did you shop the biggest sale of the year? I’m sure many of you are already over the Nordstrom sale, and I feel so lame sharing this Nordstrom post so late!  On the bright side, the sale doesn’t end until 8/5 so if you see something you like you can still shop! I bought majority of these items during early access and a few pieces here and there when the sale went public. For your reference I included sizes and links if the item is still in stock.

June 2018 Favorites & Empties

In a blink of an eye, spring left and summer is officially in full swing! Unfortunately, June was filled with more empties than favorites. I’ve been preoccupied with home remodeling so I haven’t had the time to explore new products. Here’s what I loved and emptied in June:

Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel Vs. Cactus Soothing Gel | Review

If you’ve been following me long enough then you’ll recognize Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Soothing Gel. It’s my favorite thing to use in combination with my beloved Klair’s Vitamin C Drops.  I never got around to giving it a proper review, but better late than never! I picked up the Cactus Soothing Gel during my last Korea trip so I figured this would be a good opportunity to review both and do a comparison between the two.

Innisfree Real Squeeze Green Tea Mask Review

When it’s hot out I don’t like heavy duty moisturizing sheet masks so I thought this would be the perfect time to use my Innisfree Real Squeeze Green Tea Sheet Masks. They're light and comfortable to wear in this summer heat, and they hydrate and soothe parched skin. I’ve tried a few of their Real Squeeze sheet masks in the past, which included rose, ginseng, and aloe. They’re affordable, decent quality, and great for daily use.

Get Rid of Cracked Feet + Heels | The Face Shop Smile Foot Peeling Mask Review

Dry, cracked heels and feet are a nuisance. They ruin your bed sheets, can be embarrassing, and are just so uncomfortable! Kevin and I have dry feet, but his are like pumice stones. When you can feel a hardened layer of skin under your foot, you know it’s time to exfoliate. If you like to use a Ped Egg or something similar, please stop. Instead, use a foot peeling mask! I picked up these Smile Foot Peeling Masks at my local Face Shop and they are life changing!

May 2018 Favorites & Empties

How is it June already?! It’s true what they say- the older you get, the faster time seems to pass. Here were my favorites and empties for May! Some skin care, makeup, and for the first time ever, jewelry!

Tarte Aspyn Ovard Palette Review On Asian Eyes | Swatches, Look

It has been a while since I went on any sort of d-day to pick up a newly launched makeup product. I haven’t felt that sort of excitement in so long! The palette I’m talking about is the one and only Tarte Aspyn Ovard. I first shared it on my instagram and everyone agreed that the packaging is so gorgeous! I was super excited to see how it would look on my Asian skin tone and eyes so let’s dive into how it looks and wears! Let’s review!

How To: Cruelty-Free, Vegan Friendly Method to Whiten Sensitive Teeth At Home

The season of graduation, weddings, and summer parties is upon us! Normally we prioritize our skin care and makeup to make sure we look our best, but do you pay attention to your smile? Taking care of your teeth is just as important as taking care of your skin! If you’re like me and you drink coffee and tea everyday then you know your teeth have some degree of staining. I’ve been drinking black tea since I was twelve and started coffee four years ago. At my last dental check up, my dentist happily pointed out all the dark stains on my teeth magnified 4x on a gigantic screen. Yikes! I use Crest 3D White toothpaste on a daily basis and thought that would be good enough to combat the stains, but I guess I was wrong. The awesome people from Smile Brilliant couldn’t have contacted me at a better time. They offered to let me try out their at-home whitening kit for this review and an extra kit for one of you as well!

Get Rid Of Bacne ft. Klairs Manuka Honey & Choco Body Soap

I’m embarrassed to say that I still get bacne/back acne/body acne from time to time. I don’t treat the skin on my body as well as the skin on my face, which I’ve realized is a mistake. Since warm weather is coming around soon, I want to make sure my body is spot free so I can wear my summer clothes with confidence. I picked up the Klairs Manuka Honey & Choco Body Soap when I was shopping in A-Land in hopes that it would be an easy way to get rid of bacne. Let’s see if this bacne wash works!

How To: Natural Way To Heal Pitted Acne Scars

Hello, hello! As you can tell from the title, I’m writing about my experience treating acne scars in a natural, laser-free way. I’ve wanted to have acne scar revision treatments for as long as I can remember, but after countless hours of research on different treatment options and several failed consultations, I was forced to look for an alternative. (I was advised not to pursue laser treatments because I was considered high risk for adverse reactions.) I needed a less invasive way to heal my scars or at least improve the look of them. I have been seeing an acupuncturist on a regular basis since October 2017. My appointments were originally aimed at just health maintenance, but once I knew lasers weren’t an option for me I turned to acupuncture treatments for my acne scars. Keep on reading for my experience, and before and after photos!

Sulwhasoo Hydro-Aid Moisturizing Soothing Mist Review

Hydrating mists have always seemed a bit gimmicky to me. If you’ve been keeping up with beauty news then you might’ve heard them saying mists actually dry out your skin. I tried misting while on a long haul flight to Asia many years back and I remember feeling extra parched at the end of it. Well, this time around I discovered a great mist and an even better way to use them. Say hello to Sulwhasoo’s Hydro-Aid Moisturizing Soothing Mist! This mist is part of the Hydro-Aid collection, which is used to address hydration concerns (review of the Moisturizing Soothing Cream is here).
