Christmas Dinner 2016

Good day! How was everyone's Christmas? My hubs and I hosted Christmas for my family this year and we crammed in 15 people for a pot-luck style dinner in our cozy home. Because I was so excited for Christmas, I wanted to make so many different things to eat-cookies, bread, cakes, soup, etc. To make this all possible I started preparing 3 days before the party and was pretty much living in my kitchen. Our family dinners usually lack in the veggie department so I made sure to make a huge serving of warm kale and green bean salad, green bean casserole, and a big pot of tomato bisque soup with grilled cheese dippers on the side.

For dessert, I made 2 batches of Spritz cookies, vegan banana bread, gingerbread trifle, our family's version of cheesecake, and brownies.

I wish I was able to photograph the other food that the family contributed, but it was a bit chaotic with so many people running around our little home. The rest of the family brought pecan pie, pulled pork, butternut squash curry, curry chicken and rice, lasagna, red bean dessert, more green beans, and salmon! Sounds like a bit much, right?  Oh, it was a glorious sight to see! I think we could've easily fed 25 people with all the food we had. I love having family get togethers. We laugh, we love, and most importantly, we eat! <3 I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and best wishes as the new year approaches!
