COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch & One Step Pimple Clear Pad Review
COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch & One Step Pimple Clear Pad! Do they work? Is one better than the other? The answer is: yes and no. I experimented with the patch and pad on different types of pimples to see how they worked. If you’re easily grossed out, then don’t continue reading!
For reference, the Acne Pimple Master Patch is an “overnight fixer to make whiteheads, blackheads, and picked zits disappear by morning.” The One Step Pimple Clear Pad “chemically exfoliates without drying out your skin … to dissolve oil and dead skin cells to prevent further breakouts.” In a nutshell, we have a spot treatment product and a toner/exfoliator product. I’ve tried both of these guys on some different spots I was ‘blessed’ with over the past few months and here are my results:
Pimple type 1 “The Underground”– These are hard, large, painful spots, and feel deep under the skin. Also known as Nodules or Cystic acne.
- Patch: No significant result except slight reduction in size.
- Pad: Yes! I cut a small piece off to place over a spot before I went to bed and the next morning it was gone. This isn’t meant to adhere to the skin so it fell off at some point, but it was on long enough to work its magic!!!
Pimple type 2 “The Blister”- These are more surface level that just appear as red bumps and no pus is present.
- Patch: The patches shortened the life cycle of this type of spot. I suppose it purged my pimple because these ones always produced pus the following morning. After clearing away the pus, it would still be red, but on its way to the healing stage.
- Pad: Ineffective
Pimple type 3 “The Eruptor”- These guys have formed pus and need to be extracted.
- Patch: The patches rip out the pus in one quick and clean go. You’re left with a cleared out pore that just needs after care to close up and heal.
- Pad: Ineffective
Based on my experience, the COSRX patches and pads do work, but neither one is a standalone comprehensive acne fighter. I would use both products depending on the type of pimple I’m dealing with. Which one would I advise purchasing? If you can’t buy both, then I would get the pimple patch. Overall, it works well for various situations whereas the pads I found only effective for nodules. Note, if you have serious acne I would advise a different treatment as I can only base my review on the few spots I get. I hope this was informative for you!
