Pros: Gentle, effective

Cons: None

Hi friends, today I’m reviewing a new face wash! It’s more of an exfoliating face wash actually. Introducing *ByWishtrend’s Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash!

What It Is

This is a low-acid moisturizing cleanser and scrub in powder form with a pH of 5.5 (in case you don’t know 5.5 is supposedly the magic number for happy skin). It’s great for all skin types especially those who are oily & acne-prone or suffering from blackheads. This is a baking soda based formula combined with papaya extract and green tea that cleanses, exfoliates, and moisturizes without drying out the skin.

Ingredient Analysis

Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder(2%), Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Sorbitol, Papain, Betaine, Cellulose Gum, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate

No significantly harmful or irritating ingredients here.

Results

When I first saw this cleanser I was thinking “DUPE FOR TATCHA’S RICE ENZYME POWDER?!” Tatcha’s version is $65 for 2.1 oz while this one is only $22 and you get 2.47 oz. Obviously this one by Wishtrend is not made from rice, but the concept is the same!

I’m no stranger to using baking soda in my shampoo or even as a facial scrub. Baking soda has such a fine texture that I think it’s great for gentle exfoliation. This is fancy baking soda with things like papaya and green tea added in, and it is pretty darn good. It definitely smells like matcha too! It’s a really light scent so even if you don’t like the smell, it’s not bothersome.

To use, I squeeze out about a quarter-sized amount of powder, put in a couple drops of water, mix it between my hands, and massage onto my face. The directions say to work up a lather, but I never got it to bubble much. Once you rinse your face, you’ll notice how soft and slippery your skin feels! Not going to lie it feels pretty darn good.

Is it drying? Honestly, if you don’t put anything else on your face after using this then yes, you’ll feel kind of dry. However, not dry to the point where it’s tight and pulling. I always use essence, toner, serum, and moisturizer so I don’t have a problem.

Is it irritating? No. BUT, if you use it too often or use it with other exfoliating products (AHA/BHA/retinol/vitamin c) then you'll probably experience irritation.

Does it really clear out blackheads? It cleared out my pores pretty well! I don’t think it will work on dr.pimplepopper type blackheads, but is effective in prevention and shallower blackheads. I’ve even included a before/after picture for your viewing pleasure (note this is just after one use). Magnification to the max! ... I'm totally cringing right now.

Conclusion

I really can’t say anything negative about this cleanser. It does what it claims and I actually enjoy it more than Tatcha’s Rice Enzyme Powder. The fact that it’s under $25 is even better!! It’s also perfect for traveling since the liquids rule doesn’t apply!
