Smashbox Always On Gel Eyeliner Review

Smashbox Always On Gel Eyeliner Review

It’s the start of a new week! I hope you all had a great weekend. Today, I’m sharing a new eyeliner I found that does NOT smudge! For all makeup users, a black eyeliner pencil is a must have item. It’s a staple beauty product in my makeup bag and I use it on a daily basis. Smashbox’s Always On Gel Eyeliner pencil is especially great for lining the waterline.  You know how hard it is to keep eyeliner on there!

Tip:

If applying on waterline, let dry for a few seconds before blinking.

What It Is

The Always On Gel Eyeliner is a black gel eyeliner pencil.  It claims to be a super pigmented pencil that glides on smoothly and stays on for 24+ hours without budging, smudging, or flaking.  It sells for $18 and can be found at Sephora, Smashbox, Nordstrom, Ulta, etc.

Results

I’ve been using this eyeliner on my waterline and have really impressed! If you saw my last post (here) I had it on my upper waterline and lid, and it did not transfer all day. It stayed put right up until I had to remove it so I didn’t see if it lasted more than 24 hours. In reality, I don’t think anyone should be wearing it for more than 24 hours unless they really have too, but the point is it LASTS. I was using MUFE’s waterproof pencil and UD’s 24/7 pencil, but this one is so much nicer. I read some complaints about the eyeliner transferring on the waterline, but my tip for making this work is to let it dry for just a few seconds before blinking. That's the key to making this eyeliner work as it should if you have watery eyes.

*I used my husband's hand to swatch and as you can see in the second photo it smeared just a tiny bit because it wasn't totally dry yet (I dragged my finger across it pretty much immediately after applying). Despite that, you can see in the last photo that there was almost zero transfer.

Conclusion

If you use black eyeliner on a regular basis you need to try this!
