COSRX: Moisture Up Pads VS Pimple Clear Pad
Earlier this year COSRX came out with their One Step Moisture Up Pads and everyone declared their newfound love. I’ve been a fan of their Pimple Clear Pads so I wanted to try the more gentle, moisturizing version and to see if it lived up to the hype. I picked up the Moisture Up Pads back in May so I’ve been using it for a while- long enough for a review! Instead of my normal review process, I’ll be comparing the One Step Moisture Up Pads to the One Step Pimple Clear Pads.
What It Is
Moisture Up Pads
A moisturizing pad soaked in Propolis Extract and Hyaluronic Acid. This helps with dehydrated, delicate, and flaky skin. It can be used as a mini sheet mask on dry problem areas or can be used as a makeup remover.
Pimple Clear Pads
Pre-soaked pads in Betaine Salicylate and Willow Bark Water to chemically exfoliate without drying out your skin. It is used to reduce oil and excess sebum.
Both the Moisture Up and Pimple Clear Pads scored very low for acne, irritant, and safety according to COSDNA- meaning these are safe and gentle products. Key ingredients such as Propolis Extract and Hyaluronic Acid both have hydrating properties to soothe dry skin. Betaine Salicylate is a chemical exfoliator and Willow Bark Water soothes and hydrates the skin.
How To Use
For both versions of these pads, you just sweep them across your face and concentrate on areas that need more help. The Pimple Clear Pads should be used in the toner step of your routine and the Moisture Up Pads can be used before/after cleansing as it also functions as a makeup remover.
COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pad
A bit stronger than the Moisture Up Pads
Makes those big, swollen, painful, hard pimples go down overnight
Skin feels very clean, but not stripped
Excellent for summer time use when skin is producing more oil and sweat
COSRX One Step Moisture Up Pads
Removes makeup well
Excellent for colder, drier weather
Doesn’t exfoliate as well as the Pimple Clear Pads and you don’t feel as “clean”
Not really for acne treatment
Both pads have an exfoliating side and a smooth side to them, but they feel like soft cotton. For reference, I’ve tried the Neogen pads and their exfoliating side is like sand paper compared to these COSRX pads. I should also note that both of these leave a sort of oil like slip to the skin after, but it disappears once absorbed.
The Moisture Up and Pimple Clear pads are excellent! If you only want to try one at a time, I would save the Pimple Clear Pads for hot weather seasons and the Moisture Up Pads for colder, drier seasons. For all my sensitive, acne prone friends- you should definitely check these out!
