Top 5 Acne Fighting Products

Hello there! If you read my skin story, then you’ll know I suffered from really severe acne in my teens. I wanted to share with you some really great acne fighting products that I wish existed back then. I still get the occasional blemish and I have to deal with scars and pores now, but I use these guys when my skin wants to be 15 again.

1. Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask

Top 5 Acne Fighting Products

I’ve been using this mask for at least 3 years and nothing beats it. I mix it with apple cider vinegar for a real deep cleanse to get rid of the excess sebum and filaments- it’s like a reset for my skin. I do not use this combination on a regular basis as it’s pretty harsh, but I can definitely count on it to clear out my pores when they’re in trouble. Anytime I use this mask I always follow up with layers and layers of moisturizing products or a hydrating sheet mask if I’m lazy.

2. COSRX Pimple Pads

Top 5 Acne Fighting Products

Some people use these pads as a toner, but I like using them as a mini mask treatment on those volcanic like pimples. I like to think of them as my ninja pimple assassins. When you get those hard, painful bumps that are under the skin these pads are SO helpful. I cut them up so I get more uses, but you can apply it however you’d like. Just make sure you let it sit on the skin for at least 15 minutes. I go to sleep with mine and the next morning they are G-O-N-E. :)

3. COSRX Pimple Patches

Top 5 Acne Fighting Products

I wish I had these patches when I was young!!! They greatly reduce scarring because you don’t have to pop your pimples. When you apply this on a pimple that will produce pus, it will either pull it right out for you or bring it to head so you can just wipe it away. Either way you’re left with a cleared out pore and you can apply a new patch to help with healing and zero scars. These have been life changing for me!

4. Paula’s Choice BHA Liquid (for younger skins) OR Klairs Vitamin C Drops (for older skins 25+)

I think I was in college when I first started using BHA. I had some light acne then and BHA worked so much better than any other topical acne treatment. It got down into my pores to dissolve all the gunk and helped my skin turn around. If you have large pores or acne scars you know how easily you can break out so having BHA around is perfect because it helps clean everything out so you’re not standing in front of the mirror squeezing your face with a comedone extractor.

Now if you’re older or say you just have pigmentation issues then Klairs Vitamin C Drops are amazing. My BHA use has lessened as I’ve gotten older and now I use my Klairs drops on an almost daily basis. I’ve talked about this so much already, but I really love how it brightens up my face and makes it more even toned. It also helps with minor breakouts!

5. Missha Super Aqua Cell Renewal Snail Cream

Of all the moisturizers I’ve tried, this is the one I keep returning to. It’s the perfect amount of hydration regardless of the seasons (unheard of!). It soothes my skin, keeps it plump, and helps heal up any irritation or popped pimples. When I had bad acne, my skin was super oily so everyone was telling me to stay away from moisturizer so things got even worse! I wish I could go back in time to change all that. Now we all know (for the most part) that moisturizer is super important regardless of skin type. I highly recommend this cream for everyone!

Those were my top 5 products for acne treatment and I hope this was helpful! Before I end this post I have to say that these are products that suited my skin type so just remember that what works for me may or may not work for you. I wish you all the best in your acne fighting journey!
