January 2018 Favorites & Empties
This is the year I’m breaking into my stash of Kbeauty products I picked up in Korea! January whizzed by and I’ve got my usual favorites and empties. I decided to combine the two since they’re monthly posts- practical, yes? Let’s go!
I’m going to do a full review on this cream very soon, but I had to put it in my favorites first because this has been so amazing. I was really blown away by how moisturizing it was despite it’s light, gel texture. It costs a pretty penny, but I’m convinced that it’s worth it. It is so hydrating, non-sticky, and even husband approved. My super dehydrated skin has been drinking this up!
This winter has been the driest one for my skin yet. I’ve been trying to find the right combination of products to use to bring my skin back to life, and this has helped so much. I think it was a bit too heavy for me during the warmer months, but now it’s perfect! I layer this on as the last step of my skin care to seal everything in, and next morning I’m smooth and glowing.
Moonshot Face Perfection Balm Cushion (Amazon)
I didn’t have a good first impression of this cushion, but after using it a few times I’ve grown to love it. It’s lightweight, gives a dewy glow, and provides light-medium coverage. It brightens up my skin tone and makes me look fresh! Review coming!
Aritaum Premium Idol Lash (Aritaum)
I’ve been obsessed with barely there lashes and Aritaum has definitely paved the way for me. This is just one of several varieties of natural looking lashes they carry. If you weren’t blessed with a full set of lashes, and you still want to look natural then you have to try these!
Too Cool For School Artclass By Rodin Contour (Amazon)
This contour powder has been around for a long time, and I finally caved and got it at duty free. Since my makeup has been changing to more Korean style, I needed a lighter contour shade. I can see why everyone has this and why it’s a staple! It’s perfect for lighter skin tones that want a natural contour.
3CE Mood Recipe Face Blush (Stylenanda)
LOVE. I have a couple of these blushes and they are just gorgeous. The entire Mood Recipe range is literally the colors of makeup I always gravitate towards.
3CE Mood Recipe Matte Lip Color (Stylenanda)
Same as the blushes, these lip colors are so beautiful. They’re not long lasting, but they’re just plain ‘ol pretty. Sometimes just being pretty is good enough.
T3 Featherweight 2 Hair Dryer (Costco)
Hair dryers never last long for me so I figured all hair dryers just couldn’t handle my hair. I blow dry my hair every night and it usually takes me a good 15-20 minutes because I have lots of hair. Anyway, T3 is a brand I’ve seen a lot thanks to social media, but I never considered it because it seemed gimmicky. Well, Costco happened to be selling the Featherweight 2 on sale for $70! And, of course my existing hair dryer was on its last legs, so I splurged and now I have the prettiest hair dryer ever. The best part is it’s actually lightweight, dries my hair in half the time, and I don’t look like I got electrocuted. For once I have nice, smooth, tresses.
Dr. Jart Shake & Shot
These types of masks are SO cool. I grew up loving gak and putty so this rubber type mask was so fun to use. It comes with two pouches of liquid and cream that you mix together. After applying to the face, it turns into a rubber-like mask that you can peel off. It’s not the painful type of peeling mask and feels really nice on the skin!
SK-II Skin Signature 3D Redefining Mask
I’m bringing myself to use up my SK-II masks before they expire! I’ve mentioned these before so won’t go into it again.
Jayun Anti-Dust Whitening Mask
This was a new sheet mask that I purchased just because the packaging was gorgeous. I’m such a sucker. It was SO moisturizing, but sticky. Note to self: use these up while the weather is still cold and dry.
COSRX Clear Fit Master Patch
I was pretty disappointed by these pimple patches. That’s all I’ll say since I’m working on a comparison post on all the patches I purchased.
CNP Laboratory Anti-blemish Spot Patches
Now these worked better than the ones above! They adhere well and help skin heal faster.
Lacvert Mild Ato Cream
The next time I go to Korea I’m stocking up. This cream is AMAZING.
Flow Fushi Mote Liner
I used this liner to death! It looks pretty rough, but I sure got a lot of use out of it. It’s still my liner of choice so you bet I have backups!
