2017 Best Skin Care & Makeup
2017 was the year of new things and changes- I started taking blogging more seriously and changed platforms, and I figured out what I wanted to do with my passions. I’m glad 2017 is over and am so ready to tackle 2018. This is the year I make things happen. But before that, here is the roundup of the best products that got me through 2017:
Su:m 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick
You’re probably sick of seeing this, but nothing I’ve tried is better than this cleanser! I went mad searching for this at Duty Free all over Korea, but they were sold out everywhere. I think this is my 5th stick? (Just realized I never wrote a review for this and its been years...)
Su:m 37 Secret Essence Advanced Sync Program (review)
Of all the essences I’ve tried, this one by Su:m gives me the best results. I am currently using the one by Sulwhasoo, but I’m not seeing much change.
Klairs Supple Preparation Toner (review)
This time when I visited Korea, I picked up not 1, not 2, but 3 bottles of this toner. My skin just reacts so well to this and I love the consistency- not too thick, not too watery. It’s just perfecto!
Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drops (review)
Another repeat product that I mention all the time. When I combine this with aloe vera gel, my skin looks even, bright, and clear. Love it!
COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch (review)
I rarely have to pop pimples now thanks to these little patches. Why risk scarring when these will take care of it for you?
COSRX One Step Original Clear Pad (review)
I already loved the COSRX Clear Pads, but I really fell hard for them when summer rolled along. It kept my oiliness in check and my skin free of blackheads/pimples. This is now a staple in my vanity.
Mediheal I.P.I Lightmax Hydro Nude Gel Mask
Never have I ever seen my skin so bright and damn near perfect thanks to this sheet mask. You bet I now have a whole box sitting in my cabinet!
Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay (review)
My super hero when I have troubled skin. It sucks everything out and leaves you squeaky clean! No mask I’ve tried has been able to rival it!
Troiareuke A+ Cushion (review)
The A+ Cushion gives you the no-makeup-makeup-look that has great coverage while providing excellent skin benefits. They do advertise it as 99% skin care for a reason.
Aritaum Idol Lash No. 5
You know when you want a little something something for your lashes, but don’t want it to look so obvious? These lashes by Aritaum fit the bill. No lie, they give just the right amount of oomph to make someone wonder if you were born with those lashes. I never really liked western lashes because they were so obvious and dramatic despite being called “natural,” but these got me immediately and I brought home 5 boxes.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer (review)
My go-to bronzer for 2017! It’s the perfect shade that’s not too orange, not too red, and not too grey. Healthy glow here we go!
Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner
These liners are so easy to use and I found myself reaching for them whenever I needed a nude lip (which is almost everyday). The colors are gorgeous and they’re so convenient!
Flow Fushi Mote Liner (review)
I pretty much kissed all my other liners goodbye after meeting this Mote liner. When you got the best, why bother using any other?
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation (review)
This was my go to foundation when I wanted a healthy, glowy complexion. It’s a tad bit dark for my skin tone, but it’s a beautiful formula that anyone would love. I tried repurchasing this, but I wasn’t able to find it online anymore. Darn!
The Saem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer (review)
The Saem totally converted me during 2017. I used to be a high-end only concealer girl, but this one proved me wrong. The formula is thin and lightweight, it provides high coverage, and the price point is excellent. I bought 2 more in Korea for less than $4 (they have more shades than what was available on Amazon).
That was my 2017 faves so I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Did you have any similar faves? May you all have the best of luck in 2018! It’s already getting off to a great start and I have lots to share with you all so come back soon!
