As someone who has acne scars and large pores, base makeup is always a challenge. Products that fill texture are usually thick and heavy; ones that are lightweight don’t provide enough coverage. Today I’m reviewing YG’s Moonshot Face Perfection Balm Cushion, and we’ll see how it performs!

What It Is

The Face Perfection Balm Cushion is a foundation cushion that melts into the skin, provides high coverage, hydrates the skin, and gives a glowy finish.  Each cushion comes with 12g or 0.42oz of product. I got mine in the shade 201.

Results

Compared to traditional cushion foundations, this one has a mesh netting that helps release the foundation evenly onto the cushion puff. I didn’t think it would make a difference, but blending is much easier when you don’t have to worry about one part of your face getting more product than the other. I didn’t detect any fragrance so I’m happy that it is unscented!

Coverage is light to medium, and wear time is quite short at a sad 4 hours before redness starts to peek through. If you have normal or dry skin, wear time will likely be longer. The finish is glowy, healthy, and extremely natural. I love that it is hydrating and does not emphasize pores or texture, but it doesn't cover them. There are only 3 shades for light skin tones only.

You’ll see in the photos below the level of coverage and how it performed on my skin throughout the day. This is how I would wear my cushion foundations on an everyday basis- simple, barely-there makeup.

This next set of photos is when I decided to try it again while I had a cold, bad skin, and lots of redness.

Cushion vs. bare face. You can see all the redness I have and how well the cushion conceals it.

What makeup? I was ready to K.O at this point-  blew my nose too many times so all the foundation around my nose /cheeks/chin rubbed off.

Conclusion

I love how natural this cushion looks and how well it matches my skin tone. I just wish it lasted longer and had a teeny bit more coverage. If your concern is to conceal acne or texture I would not recommend this, but if you want something light for ‘good skin days’ then this is a good option.
