April 2018 Favorites & Empties
April was an exciting month since I traveled to Bali for the first time ever and there was the Sephora sale (aka more new products)! That’s another post in itself, but now it’s another month of favorites and empties.
I’m just about done with my review on this mist by Sulwhasoo and it has been a great addition to my skin care routine. It smells incredibly relaxing and preps my skin well for other products. Come back for the full review!
I heard lots of good and bad things about this gel moisturizer, but I was too curious after watching a Style Korean video on it. Its consistency is just like the J.One Jelly Pack! Funny enough I like it and I like how it makes my skin feel and look the following morning. It’s what I use when my skin is feeling really sensitive and needs some pure hydration.
Dandelion Twinkle has been sitting in my drawer unused for several months, but I rediscovered it after realizing how good highlighter looks on my forehead. That sounds weird, but you know what I mean. This highlighter is so natural and gives the most beautiful glow. Its shimmer particles are so much finer and smaller than other highlighters so you can get that natural healthy glow.
When I first tried this Glossier concealer I was a bit turned off- it didn’t seem to apply or conceal well. After getting educated on how to apply base makeup by Risabae I gave this another shot and actually liked it! The trick is to either warm it up with your fingers or sweep your brush back and forth to melt it down. If you just apply it straight out of the pot it will not look good. It has buildable coverage and looks really natural.
First of all, I love the packaging of this mascara. It’s super sleek, modern, and just gorgeous. It has a tiny wand that is perfect for getting inner and outer corners, and bottom lashes. My bottom lashes are nearly invisible so this is amazing for bringing them out!
When I was in Korea I saw this eyewash getting advertised everywhere so I picked it up hoping to get squeaky-clean eyes. Haha! But really, I wear eye makeup all the time so the thought of having makeup particles floating around in my eyes is kind of gross. This pink version has a cooling sensation, which is excellent if you’re suffering from itchy eyes (allergies). I love giving my eyes a quick rinse on mornings when I’m still feeling a bit sleepy and it helps me feel refreshed. Otherwise, I use it here and there depending on how much makeup I wore to make sure I don’t have any left over makeup floating around. It’s an excellent way to keep everything clean!
If you want to watch something light, easy, and funny this is the show for you. It’s more on the slapstick comedy side and is perfect when you just want to turn your brain off and chill out.
Heart Signal 2
I was obsessed when the first season of Heart Signal came out and got Kevin hooked. Season 2 came out and we think it’s even better than the first! You have to watch!
My favorite toner of all time! I’m currently using the unscented version, but I still prefer the original.
This is the one Klairs product that just didn’t work as well for me. I used it all up, but will not be repurchasing.
Is this my second or third bottle of the Klairs Vitamin C drops? I always recommend this because of how gentle yet effective this is. It keeps my skin in check!
Nexcare Pimple Patches
CNP Laboratory Anti-Blemish Spot Patch
COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch
COSRX Clear Fit Master Patch
Care Zone A-Cure Clarifying Spot Patch
SkinFood Tea Tree Secret Spot Patch
I had a whole post dedicated to all my pimple patches that you can read here. I have so many more of these empties than before because I had the rationing mindset, but then I realized I had plenty so I started using them freely!
This group of concealers and foundation make me cry a little on the inside. As much as I loved them, I didn't use them up quick enough and they've gone way past their expiration date. The only item I would repurchase from here is the Bourjois foundation .
