July 2018 Favorites & Empties
July is over and was a crazy busy month for me! We're so close to being done with our home remodeling and I cannot wait until it's complete! I've had to put this blog and my social media posts on the back-burner, but I'll be back posting regularly soon. If you've been through home renovations then you know how tough they can be! In the mean time, it's time to share what I loved and emptied in July!
I mentioned this on my instagram a few posts back, but this mask saved my skin. I was in L.A for July 4th and it also happened to be the hottest week. My skin just was not having it and was so angry. It was red, sensitive to the touch, bumpy, and anything I put on my face stung. It was just so bad! When I got home I remembered I had this stashed away (see my Korea haul) and figured it was the best time to try it. I applied one light layer, didn’t feel any discomfort, so I applied it more generously and it was like putting a cold towel on a sunburn. Relief!! My skin improved so much with just one use and it was back to normal after 3 applications. No joke! I’m going to make sure this stays stocked in my vanity.
I’ve been using this eye essence for all of July and I think it’s safe to say it is working. I have this one line under my right eye that seemed to move in permanently on my face, but I just realized it’s not there anymore. I’m going to keep monitoring to see if this is really the case because if it is then THIS IS AMAZING. You bet a review will be coming for this. Note- I got this as part of a set from Duty Free at the Changi Airport in Singapore.
It has been hot enough for me to wear this Hera cushion! If you read my review you’ll know that this cushion needs some humidity to look good.
My review on this BB cream has been delayed, but I still wanted to include it in my favorites. The formula is so light and comfortable! It feels incredibly refreshing to apply, not like your typical bb creams that are thick and heavy. It has been a life saver when I need to get ready quick! P/S: You can also purchase it off Amazon.
Moonshot Brow Shaper Mascara
I have the sparsest eyebrows ever (still trying to get them to grow out like 6 years later…) so I never bother with brow mascaras, but the S.A at the Moonshot counter totally won me over with this. Its wand has two different bristle lengths and the longer one fills in your brows so naturally. This one is in the color Natural Brown.
I remember seeing Cocofloss at Sephora last year or the year before and thought it was so weird. Who cares about floss? And, floss that costs $8! Well, my lovely dentist just gave me a sample to try and I’m converted. I used to think floss didn’t need to be fancy and mine only cost $3 for 200 yards! This floss smells amazing, feels great, and actually cleans between the teeth really well. This one gets rid of food stuck between the teeth in one go, not like my Reach floss!
My ID Is Gangnam Beauty
This drama is about a girl's insecurities and dealing with bullies because her looks don't align with Korea's high standards. I'm enjoying this show more than I thought and I like how it reminds you that beauty is more than skin deep. Btw- is it just me or does Im Soo Hyang look like Michelle Phan in this pic?
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser
I am repurchasing this! I love it so much for cleansing my face in the morning. Check out my full review here!
Klairs Manuka Honey & Choco Body Soap
With all the tight clothes and hot weather, I started getting more breakouts on my back so I purchased another Klairs body soap to help clear it out. Did you read my review on it?
We finished off this cream a while ago, but I never got around to throwing it out. I have all my notes on this cream and just need to put it together for a review! Kevin actually loved this cream more than the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream. It’s great for dry skin and dry weather, but is a bit too heavy for summer.
Mediheal Labocare Pantenoide Sun Essence
I can’t believe how long this sunscreen lasted! It’s the first of 4 sunscreens I purchased in Korea last year that is finally empty! It’s a great dual purpose sunscreen/moisturizer if you’re feeling lazy. Check out my review here!
Innisfree Jeju Rose Hand Cream
Kevin and I bought a bunch of these Innisfree hand creams when we honeymooned in Korea and we love them so much! We’ve used several of them already, but I only remembered to include it this time around. These hand creams are so moisturizing, smell amazing, feel great on the hands, and are the perfect size to throw in your bag when you’re on the go! I know some of the scents and packaging has changed, but they’re still a must-buy for me!
COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid
My review on this BHA liquid is so late, but I promise it’s coming! It’s a much milder, gentler version compared to Paula’s Choice BHA.
COSRX Clear Fit Master Patch

The Saem Natural Oatmeal Mask Sheet
Biorepublic Aloe Rescue
Mediheal I.P.I Lightmax Ampoule Mask
Great for times when your skin needs to look alive again.
Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask
N4 Lumiere D’Hiver
This is an awesome clarifying shampoo. It leaves my hair so soft and light, and it smells amazing! Available via Amazon.
Elizabeth And James Nirvana Dry Shampoo
If you like the matching perfume then you'll enjoy this dry shampoo. Its best quality is that it smells great, otherwise it's not that stellar of a dry shampoo.
Idol Lash No.1
Aritaum has such affordable, natural, cute lashes!
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes
Reminder to self- do not buy this mascara. It smudges and leaves me looking like a raccoon at the end of the day.
Anastasia Brow Definer
Compared to the Brow Wiz, this one covers more area more quickly, but if you want precise strokes I would stick with the Brow Wiz.
That's another month of favorites and empties! I can't believe we're only 4 months away from Christmas... 0_0 I hope you all are enjoying the last bits of summer! Did you share any favorites or have any recommendations for me to try? Let me know! I'll be back soon with more posts!
