August 2018 Favorites & Empties
Hey father time, can you give me a break here? It’s already September so it’s time to recap my favorites and empties for August!
Clio Kill Cover Founwear Cushion Foundation
After doing my review of this cushion I left it aside untouched, but this past month I reached for it again and enjoyed it more than before. Its coverage and ease of application have really helped me get ready in a pinch! I don’t use the puff that came with the cushion, but I grab a beauty blender instead to get a sheerer application. I find this method looks and feels the best on my skin. No need for concealer with this cushion!
Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil
This eyebrow pencil is OG. I mean, when I first started getting into makeup this is the pencil I chose and that was so many years ago! I picked this up at Taiwan duty free during my last trip and fell in love with it all over again. Before this I was using ABH brow products, and we all know how much they cost and how quickly they get used up. This pencil lasts forever and it’s $25. It gives a softer, natural brow compared to Western counterparts.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance
ABH makes some gorgeous eyeshadows, and I dusted off the Modern Renaissance in anticipation for fall. I’ve been loving Warm Taupe from this palette. A sheer wash of it blends everything so beautifully, no matter what colors you’re using! Red Ochre, Venetian Red, and Love Letter have also been getting more love lately!
Glossier Cloud Paint in Storm
I was reordering my fave Glossier cleanser and their cloud paint magically appeared in my shopping cart. How could I resist? Storm is one of their new shades and I though it was very autumn appropriate. It’s a wine colored blusher that looks so warm and gives off cozy vibes. How gorgeous is that? It's time to come up with a dusty, rosy makeup look. I haven't done that in a while!
Troiareuke Skin Complex Formula
I haven't written up my review of these colorful toners by Troiareuke yet, but I very much enjoyed using these during August. You can create your own toner based on your skin needs by blending different ampoules together. Each ampoule has a special function and addresses concerns such as acne, pores, wrinkles, skin tone, etc.
I love fantasy so this drama is right up my alley. Magic, love, and fate, makes this drama enjoyable. It's light and easy to watch, especially when you just want to wind down during the week.
I'll admit it. Hubs and I are new blinks. I remember watching their new mv when it came out not too long ago, but I was like "eh this is weird." Thanks to Running Man we got hooked and the more we heard their songs, the catchier they became. They really do grow on you! This ahjumma feels like a teeny bopper again.
Crazy Rich Asians
I wasn't expecting too much from this movie, but was pleasantly surprised! Good looking cast, gorgeous fashion, and set in Singapore! Yee! P/S: I fell in love with Michelle Yeoh's emerald ring and am now dreaming of owning one some day.
Missha Snail 3D Sheet Mask
Has anyone else used this before? I found a stack of these in my mom’s closet and excitedly slapped one on my face, but I was super shocked by how bad it was! First off, the design of the sheet mask is so off. It has a seam running down the middle of it that doesn’t lay flat against the skin so it looks like those disposable facemasks that people wear. Second, I’m quite certain the essence has alcohol in it by the smell and feel of it. Sheet masks shouldn’t have alcohol fumes that make your eyes water! It makes me wonder if my mom got duped into buying knock offs?
Taiwan Yes Q 360
This is the first sheet mask I’ve tried that loops around the ears. This was a best seller at Taiwan duty free so I had to try it. It’s not as hydrating compared to Korean sheet masks, but I did notice my skin tone lightened up a bit after using. I have to try it a couple more times to be sure.
Mediheal I.P.I LightMax Ampoule Mask
Mediheal I.P.I LightMax Hydro Nude Gel Mask
Nature Republic Aloe
These are all repeat sheet masks that I’ve mentioned before.
COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch
Care Zone A-Cure Clarifying Spot Patch

Laneige Water Bank Serum
This renewed my love for the Laneige Water Bank line! It was the first full Kbeauty line I used in my early 20's and this serum is still so great to use!
House of Lashes Lash Glue
I wouldn’t recommend getting this lash glue. I think the one by D.U.P is better even though it costs more.
I bought this because Pony convinced me I needed it in my life. Did I really? No. No I didn't. I wasn't patient enough to learn how to use it properly and I was also lazy. Right, I forgot to mention it's eyelid glue and it goes rancid quite quickly.
RCMA No Color Powder
I hate to throw this out, but I’ve had it for too many years now and I don’t think it’s good for my skin anymore. Besides, I found a better setting powder here.
